Modern expression for traditional street-facing building.

While architecture needs to adapt to contemporary demands, the act of walking can continue to be supported by having buildings that engage pedestrians with active uses, protect pedestrians with overlooking windows, and relate to pedestrians by incorporating human-scaled elements. A high-rise residential tower extends from the top of the photo, and illustrates how building height need not be at odds with having an attractive and inviting street environment.
